| This is the initial sketch. Not bad but I didn't know if it
would work in a smaller size. It did give me a good idea of what type of
beard I wanted though.

Next the photo- I took samples of another beard and built my own according to the sketch..

this at all. Looks more Indiana Jones than Cowboy.:( |

In the meantime I was working on these, and liked the way they were coming out. Liked the black and white photo, the graininess of it and although the sketch was okay I thought the idea worked better in these. Maybe because the face is so small. You really need that exact likeness. |
| Finally I decided to add color. Just a hint, didn't want to lose the old west feel. The red scarf was perfect. And I decided to tint the skin as well. |  |
